Julia, Averill, Andrea, Sue, Rita, Debbie, Di, Karen, Trish
Route - Wickham Market/Framlingham/Kettleburgh/ Wickham Market
Distance - approx 20 - 25 miles for those that cycled to the start point and a lot less for those that didn't!
The weather was good and apart from Trish's car window sticking open on arrival and Di going to the wrong start point, we finally got going. It was a very exciting day as Elfie arrived on her lovely new purple and white bike, and Sue arrived on her absolutely stunning carbon fibre, light as a feather bike. Andrea then arrived on HER new bike - a rather sleek and racy looking number which clearly means business. We now have almost a full complement of road bikes. Debbie ' my saddle keeps dropping' is not allowed one as she is already very quick on her hybrid and if she had a road bike she would be just too quick for the rest of us!
Due to time constraints, it being a bit windy, and having to go via my house to collect Trish 'my window has stuck' we did not go too far. Andrea noted that Julia's saddle was completely obliterated by her posterior and named her 'chunky bum'. Julia is now thinking of a suitable name for 'I've got more than 3 gears' Andrea.......
Averill 'curtain call' mean while kept overtaking everyone on the hills, although as she is swanning off to some exotic caribbean island soon, she will probably get very unfit whilst sipping cocktails and lounging by the pool. (OK we are jealous).
On the way back everyone piled into Julia's house for a quick coffee, giving Julia's daughter Katie a bit of a shock. Katie later announced to Julia that 'all your friends look the same'. The group all enjoyed Sue's fig rolls, as did Rollo the dog later when he managed to snaffle one from the worktop.
Over all a very enjoyable ride, no one got lost and we even managed to do an entire route without getting the map out.
